The kidneys are two reddish-brown bean-shaped organs found in vertebrates. They are located on the left and right in the retro-peritoneal space, and in adult humans are about 12 centimeters (4+1⁄2 inches) in length.They receive blood from the paired renal arteries; blood exits into the paired renal veins. Each kidney is attached to a ureter, a tube that carries excreted urine to the bladder.

किडनी दो लाल-भूरे सेम के आकार के अंग हैं जो कशेरुकी जीवों में पाए जाते हैं।  वे रेट्रो-पेरिटोनियल स्पेस में बाईं और दाईं ओर स्थित हैं, और वयस्क मनुष्यों में लंबाई में लगभग 12 सेंटीमीटर (4+1/2 इंच) होते हैं। वे युग्मित गुर्दे की धमनियों से रक्त प्राप्त करते हैं;  रक्त युग्मित गुर्दे की शिराओं में बाहर निकल जाता है।  प्रत्येक किडनी एक मूत्रवाहिनी से जुड़ी होती है, एक ट्यूब जो उत्सर्जित मूत्र को मूत्राशय तक ले जाती है।
